More than 21 years ago, we moved to Isle of Wight County from the more congested York County. A few months ago we downsized to a new home in Holland Meadows, within the town limits of Windsor.

We have always loved Isle of Wight, with its small-town, country congeniality yet nearness to the "big cities", but now that we're within a five minute drive of our local stores, we love it even more.

Windsor is the perfect town - the local merchants know us by name, and, believe me, if you can't find it in Windsor, or they can't order it, you don't need it!! Yet, we're within a short drive to our children's homes, both in Williamsburg and Norfolk, and we know many locals who commute to Newport News and Hampton.

Windsor is the best of all worlds.

We truly are not sure where to start! We looked for several years at new construction homesites and finally chose Chapel Hill Estates in the Hickory area of Chesapeake. Ashdon Builders and Amy Thomas At Chapel Hill Estates went above and beyond for us. It is such a wonderful feeling to come home from work everyday and think to yourself or say to your spouse, I love our house. We moved to CHE in Aug 2011 from Suffolk, Virginia and every day it has been a blessing to us. We have a wonderful home that is close to everything you could possibly want or need. I do have to say that Amy was truly a huge reason for our choice to purchase in Chapel Hill Estates. She showed us the gorgeous model and we just knew it was everything we wanted in a house. I have to say I drove by our home while it was being built and took pictures on a daily basis, we just couldnt wait to close on our house and move in. With every home buying/building process there are always bumps along the way, we never felt as though any of our concerns were not addressed and remedied in a timely fashion. The Hickory Schools are more than we could have ever hoped for, for our two children that are still in school, the staff is wonderful and truly goes above and beyond. The end result of our new home in one word, "FABULOUS"! We have to commend Amy, Ashdon Builders and all of their subs for being so gracious through the entire process, and a very big thank you to to the entire Ashdon family. WE LOVE OUR HOUSE!!!

We picked CHE because of its location. My wife and I love Chesapeake and the Great Bridge area and all that it has to offer. We are within a short drive from work, shopping and entertainment. Additionally, CHE is located in an outstanding school district - an extremely important factor for our decision to build our house in CHE. When we drove into CHE for the first time, we visited each of the builders. Amy Thomas and Ashdon builders went above and beyond in working with us as we built our very first house. Amy was available at anytime and worked closely with us as we picked out our options. Thank you for my wonderful new home!

I started the home buying experience like everyone else...talk to a realtor, start looking at houses, and imagining all the things I would change in each one to make it "mine". And then I met Jamie and Sharon at Ashdon and began to consider building a brand new home with all my "must haves" planned from the beginning.

I knew I wanted to stay in Chesapeake and the modified floor plan for the ranch style model in Winston Trace was the perfect, affordable choice for me. After a few months of working within my dreams and my budget, I moved into my new home and LOVE it!

I watched the building process every day and worried about every beam that went up - but Jamie and Sharon patiently answered all my questions and concerns. I agonized over everything from house color to light switches and they supported me all the way. I was warned by many that house closings are always challenging and to be ready for a delay…but everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The Ashdon team worked together on my behalf and I know I have a great house from top to bottom.

As soon as we visited Chapel Hill Estates, we knew it was where we wanted to live. After searching through many communities in the Chesapeake area, we chose Chapel Hill Estates for many reasons. With children on the way, we looked for a place where we could feel safe and raise our kids in a family-oriented neighborhood. Also, Chapel Hill Estates is in a school system that is among the best in Hampton Roads. Finally, the quality of the houses built in Chapel Hill Estates was very inviting. With Ashdon Builders, we were able to build a house that had all of the amenities and luxuries we had hoped for in a home. After spending the last several years totally remodeling our home in California and then finding that my job was being transferred to Chesapeake, we wanted a house that was turnkey and needed no additional modifications.

Amy handled all of our requests and modifications to the floor plan in a prompt professional manner and never seemed to tire of my barrage of questions. I honestly do not know how we could have gotten our house built being on the opposite coast without Amys communication and diligence to ensure that everything was being built exactly how we wanted it done.

Once we moved to VA, everyone in the building process starting with Amy all the way down to contractors has been friendly and extremely easy to deal with.

The homebuying experience was an emotional rollercoaster.

I couldn't ask for a better location, Crystal Lake South is nestled in Cheaspeake with a country setting.

Like many others, my home to date is the most expensive purchase that I have made thus far in my life. I was searching for a location, a floorplan that fit my lifestyle, a reputable builder that was willing to customize for a reasonable price, and most of all the feeling that my needs, opinions, and contenment with the final product is important to all parties involved. I believe that I found it all at Crystal Lake South.

Mr. Kelvin Demps did an outstanding job at meeting my needs and working with me. Not a single question went unanswered. Kelvin made it clear that he represented the builder, but his genuine warmth and display of concern was reassuring and refreshing. The fact that he lives in the community himself, shows his confidence in the product that he is selling...Kelvin's customer service is phenomenal. He consistently called and followed up and advised of the home's progress. I couldn't ask for a better agent to work with throughout this process.

During the walk-through, Charlie knew my house inside and out, his attention to detail is outstanding. He answered all of my questions and provided me with detailed explanations and instructions on how to use, clean, and preserve the home. Charlie's concern about our contentment and enjoyment of the home was well-received and inviting. I can tell that he put a lot of time and dedication into ensuring that the home was built not only to the laws and construction code standards, but to Charlie's standards as well.

Both Kelvin and Charlie are awesome assets and representatives for Ashdon Builders...Here at Crystal Lake South, I feel confident in the customer services and the willingness of everyone to ensure that the home is as perfect as it can be not only by Kelvin and Charlie but also by Barbara. Within the first week, she contacted me and advised of how she addressed my concerns during the walkthrough process.

What a way to start our new life together!

The LORD put us both on a path that lead to each other and we wanted to begin our marriage in a new home. From the first moment we stepped into the model, it's been a complete dream experience. It all started after being so graciously welcomed by the ladies on the site. They are warm, friendly, very helpful, patient, and not to mention genuinely interested in our total and complete happiness.

With each visit to the model or to the Construction site, the ladies, and even the Contractors, were all polite, courteous, and proud of the product they built as if it was their own. This truely made us feel like a member of the ASHDON family, and the anticipation of becoming an owner of such an elegant home, in a peaceful setting was overwhelming. David has has several New Construction Homes and the ASHDON "Experience" has been superior based on the Commitment to Schedule and Quality in Workmanship.

The decision process, from color choices in tile, carpets, counters, cabinets, to design style, choices in faucets, floors and especially the lighting, were extremely easy due to the patience and guidance of the agents. Naturally, this all stems from their meticulous attention to detail and schedule. Significant contruction progress was made weekly; All our options were completed as planned; All concerns/punch list items were and continue to be handled expeditiously and professional.

The Recommendation of Bay Mortgage was Grand, they initiated contact with us and maintained close communication throughout the building process, being prompt, kind and efficient.
